Shuji's Light Show-The Movies!
The MRS Internet Journal of Nitride Semiconductor Research is proud to
bring you its first QuickTime movies! Well actually we're sort of
embarrassed, because the movies are tiny and dark.
But we promised to exploit the unique possibilities of the
Internet, so here they are.
You should have a QuickTime Viewer or Plug-In installed to see the movies, and it's
not advisable to download the movies if you have a slow internet
connection. And if the colors don't show up too well on your gray scale
monitor, you might want to check that your winsock is properly seated in
your hard disk brake shoe.
QuickTime viewers are available here.
Blue Laser Burns a Hole in Jim Harris' Shirt
(click the picture to download the movie, 996KB)
In this
movie, you'll see Jim Harris' shirt fluoresce violet as Shuji Nakamura
points his nitride laser at a piece of paper, and misses. The quality of
the video is not enhanced by the fact that the room lights were turned off.
Just kidding about burning the hole.
Full Color LED Display Makes Times Square Look Pale
(click the picture to download the movie, 1.2MB)
In this
movie, you'll laugh as Shuji Nakamura shows his scrolling
full-color LED display
upside down for several seconds until somebody notices.
Thank you to the Stanford Instructional Network for sharing the video
with us.
