Those who registered with FEDIX's "Opportunities Alert!", and whose key words match those used to code the two new announcements, have been notified automatically of the availability of the announcements.

In addition to on-line posting, synopses of both programs were published in separate Commerce Business Daily announcements on Friday (7/12/96).

Lastly, letters announcing the programs and directing people to the web sites were mailed to about 2,500 U.S. members of the National Council of University Research Administrators and to about 600 Historically Black Colleges and Universities and minority institutions. A copy of the ONR letter announcing MURI '97 is attached.

First and foremost, inquirers should be directed to the on-line text which is designed deliberately to be an all-inclusive source of information. Technical questions should be directed to the Research Topic Chiefs shown in the announcements. In the unusual circumstance that administrative questions remain, ONR folks should contact me for MURI and Dr. Polk for DURIP.
