Submitting to the MRS Internet Journal of Nitride Semiconductor Research

Thank you for deciding to publish in MIJ-NSR. Your work will be accessable sooner, for longer, by more people around the world.

Before you begin, some hints:

MIJ-NSR Submission Initiation Form (Part 1 of 5)

This is the first of 5 pages. The information you enter will only be recorded by the journal when you receive the fifth page.(You do not need to fill out this form if you have already received a password and submission number, in which case, this form has been filled out for you!)

The format/software you have used to prepare your manuscript is

Preprint Service
Publish a Preprint
Keep the Preprint Private
If you choose to publish the preprint, your article will be linked to the list of preprints in the journal's preprint server as soon as the manuscript is processed. If you choose to keep your preprint private, your article will not be linked to any public lists. The preprint will be assigned a "secret" URL. You may share the secret URL with colleagues in any way that you see fit. The journal will not monitor access to the preprint in any way. In either case, the article will be moved to the refereed journal when it is accepted for publication.

Choosing to publish a preprint may compromise your freedom to publish elsewhere in case your article is not accepted for inclusion in the journal. At this time, most publishers have not decided on policies with regard to publishing articles which have been available on preprint servers. A few journals have policies against accepting papers that have been "published" in this way. A significant number of publishers have adopted policicies which recognize an authors right to make preprints available. The Association for Computing Machinery Interim Copyright Policy is perhaps the most up-to-date policy.

Redactory Service
Please send this article to a copy editor after it has been accepted for publication.
Please refund the redactory fee to me if the referee(s) agree that it doesn't need to be sent to a copy editor.
Redactory Services is what publishers call the process of cleaning up the grammar and improving the readability of the text of an article. The option of forgoing redaction is made available by this journal for two main reasons:

  1. Cost. Many authors need to save every penny they can. This gives authors another way to reduce their publishing costs.
  2. Incentive. Referees deserve to have articles that are readable. This gives authors an incentive to make their articles readable as submitted.

This form is the first of a series of five forms that will lead you through the process of entering important information about your article into the journal database.
