This is a discussion of the MIJ-NSR article entitled AMMONO method of BN, AlN and GaN synthesis and crystal growth. by R. Dwilinski, R. Doradziński, J. Garczyński, L. Sierzputowski, M. Palczewska, Andrzej Wysmolek , M. Kamińska
Description of the paper by the reviewer(s):
Reviewer 1: This paper presents results on the synthesis of nitride (micro)crystals at relatively low temperature and pressure conditions compared to those used for the high pressure growth of single crystal platelets.
The authors emphasize the good optical quality of their microcrystals as observed by LT photoluminescence. Despite this, the question remains whether this technique, which so far yields only micrometer sized grains and needles, has any real development potential for the future.
